Why Edge exists

Your strategy stops when your laptop does

A trading setup that lives on your own machine inherits every one of that machine's bad days. The lid closes. Windows restarts for an update at three in the morning. The power flickers, or home internet drops for ninety seconds. The alert fires into nothing, and you find out hours later.

A VPS is a second product to learn

Plenty of traders discover partway through setup that MetaTrader wants a Windows machine. What began as connecting TradingView to a broker turns into choosing a virtual private server, comparing providers, sizing one, learning remote desktop, patching it, and restarting a terminal that died overnight while you were asleep. None of that is trading. It also means two subscriptions and two support desks, so when something breaks in the middle, neither vendor owns it.

Mac users have been stuck with workarounds

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 do not run natively on macOS. Mac traders have had three options: a compatibility layer, a Windows partition to reboot into, or renting a Windows machine in the cloud. All three are workarounds, and each one adds something else to maintain.

Most people have a job during market hours

The traders who most need automation are usually the ones who cannot sit in front of a chart. A setup that only runs while you are awake and at your desk is not really automation. And for a lot of traders the point was never the technology in the first place: it was executing their own rules the same way every time, without talking themselves out of one.

What PineConnector Edge is

PineConnector Edge is managed MT5 hosting included in every PineConnector plan. Instead of running MetaTrader 5 on your own computer or on a VPS you rent, PineConnector runs it on its own infrastructure, and you control it from the PineConnector portal.

• You bring your own broker account. PineConnector does not select trades, manage money or hold funds.
• You bring your own strategy. Your rules, your entries, your risk.
• You control the instance from the portal. Start it, stop it and monitor it there. There is no remote desktop to log into and nothing to install for the hosted path.
• Mac is a first-class path. The hosted path does not care what computer you own.
• Hosted instances run in New York. London is coming soon for Plus and Pro.

There is a limitation worth putting up front rather than burying. Only PineConnector's own execution component runs on Edge, so a third-party Expert Advisor cannot run on a hosted instance. Edge is also MetaTrader 5 only. If you trade on MetaTrader 4, or you depend on someone else's EA, you keep running your own terminal, which PineConnector supports the way it always has.

One thing Edge is not is a VPS with a nicer label. A VPS hands you a Windows machine and leaves the rest to you: the terminal, the updates, the restarts, the second bill and the second support desk. Edge is the whole arrangement, run for you and billed as one thing. That is the part you cannot assemble yourself out of a rented server.

How it works

1. Choose a plan

   Every plan includes hosted MT5 instances. Core includes 1, Plus 3 and Pro 5.

2. Connect your broker account

   You add the MetaTrader 5 login for the account you want to trade, from the PineConnector portal. The account is opened by you, in your own name, at the broker you chose.

3. Your strategy runs on PineConnector's infrastructure

   Your TradingView alerts reach your hosted terminal, and that terminal places the orders at your broker. It keeps running when your own computer is off.

What each plan includes

Hosting is included at every tier. PineConnector Edge is not an add-on, not a separate purchase and not an upsell.

Billed monthly. Where a price is struck through, it is the standard price after the launch period. Pro has no launch discount.

• Connections and hosted instances are one number, not two. A Plus subscriber has three connections and three hosted MT5 instances. They are the same three.
• Hosting is included at every tier. There is no hosting fee on top of the plan price.
• Your price is locked while you stay subscribed. If PineConnector raises prices later, active subscribers keep the price they signed up at, indefinitely. This applies company-wide, not just to Edge.

About your broker credentials

This is the question traders ask first about any hosted setup, so here is a direct answer rather than a badge.

To run MetaTrader 5 for you, Edge needs the MetaTrader 5 login for the account you choose to connect. There is no way around that: a terminal that cannot log in cannot place your orders. So the useful questions are what happens to those details, and what you can do about it.

If that is a trade you would rather not make, PineConnector still works the way it always has, with the terminal on your own machine. Edge is included, not required.

What Edge is not

• Not a broker. You keep your own broker relationship and your funds stay with them.
• Not a signal service. PineConnector does not tell you what to trade.
• Not managed money. Nobody at PineConnector makes trading decisions for you.
• Not a strategy. Edge runs your rules. It does not supply any.
• Not a host for third-party Expert Advisors. Only PineConnector's own execution component runs on hosted instances.
• Not a MetaTrader 4 product. Hosted instances run MetaTrader 5.
