TradingView to Pepperstone MT5: PineConnector Setup Guide

Use PineConnector to send TradingView alerts to your Pepperstone MT5 account. Start with a demo account, choose where MT5 will run, then verify that one alert produces the intended demo order.

Pepperstone provides the trading account. PineConnector carries your alert instructions to its Expert Advisor (EA) in MT5. The EA requests the trade; Pepperstone processes it under your account's trading conditions.

  2. PineConnector
  3. EA in MT5
  4. Pepperstone account

A delivered alert is not proof of a filled order. Check the broker account after your demo test.

Start with a Pepperstone MT5 demo account

Choose MetaTrader 5 when you create your demo account. Check account availability with the Pepperstone entity serving your country. Its platform support guide explains how to sign in to MT5 once you have the account.

Have these details ready:

  • Your demo trading-account number.
  • The account's trading password, not a read-only investor password.
  • The exact MT5 server assigned to that account.

Your Pepperstone client-area login manages your broker account. Your MT5 login connects the trading terminal. Keep both separate from your PineConnector login, and never put a broker password in a TradingView alert.

TradingView's broker connection is a different route

This guide is for alert-based automation through PineConnector. Connecting Pepperstone in TradingView's Trading Panel does not configure the PineConnector webhook or connect its EA to MT5.

For this route, you need TradingView webhook access, two-factor authentication and an alert that sends a valid PineConnector message. Your strategy must provide suitable alerts; PineConnector does not create trading signals.

Choose where MT5 runs

Choose one receiving setup for this demo account. Running two receivers for the same account can produce duplicate orders.

Whichever route you choose, confirm that your broker account permits Expert Advisors and your intended automation. A supported platform or server does not establish that a particular strategy is allowed.

Connect the account and prepare one test alert

  1. Finish your chosen setup guide. Confirm that the account shown in PineConnector Portal is the intended Pepperstone demo account.
  2. Check the License ID and its recipients. An alert can reach every account connected to that ID. Keep the test separate from live accounts.
  3. Match the symbol. Use the exact instrument name from the receiving MT5 account, including any suffix. Do not assume the TradingView ticker is identical.
  4. Follow Test your setup. It separates message delivery from the demo-order check and supplies the current webhook and test instructions.

Verify the order in the demo account

Before sending the test, write down the account, symbol, direction and size you expect. Afterwards, check MT5's trade and history records for one intended order and compare its details with that checklist.

Using Edge? Open Portal → Edge → your instance → Experts or Journal to inspect the hosted terminal's logs. To check positions and account history, sign in to the same demo account in a broker-supported MT5 app or terminal. You do not need a second PineConnector EA to view those records.

Running MT5 yourself? Check the terminal's Trade and History tabs, alongside its Experts and Journal logs.

A connected badge, a TradingView chart marker or a webhook response is not enough. If the result is unclear, inspect the account history and logs before sending another alert.

If the test does not work

  • MT5 cannot sign in: check the trading-account number, password and exact server against Pepperstone's account details.
  • The alert does not reach the account: follow An alert is missing to locate where delivery stopped.
  • MT5 rejects the order: read the full Experts and Journal messages, then use the EA error guide. Check the account's symbol and trading conditions before retrying.

Already have a compatible broker account?

You do not need to change brokers to use PineConnector. Keep your existing account if it meets the platform, server and automation requirements for your chosen setup. This guide covers Pepperstone MT5; it does not establish your eligibility to open or fund a Pepperstone account.

PineConnector and Pepperstone are separate companies. The referral above is an affiliate promotion, not personal advice about opening or funding an account. Leveraged trading can cause substantial losses, and automation does not remove that risk.
